In his book, Living Untethered, Michael Singer says “Every moment unfolding in front of you is there for you to serve. It can be as simple as appreciating it, or you may be able to raise the energy of the moment passing before you. A smile, a kind word, a helping hand—these are all ways of raising the energy as it passes by.”

When we are stil,
and center in the unfolding of each moment,
we know how to best serve it.

As you breathe, ask yourself who is that within you who notices each breath that you take? Who is aware of all your thoughts and emotions? Who is that costant refrain in your mind which stays the same no matter how old you are?

YOU ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS OR YOUR EMOTIONS.
USE THE OBSERVER MIND, YOUR TRUE SELF – TO RISE ABOVE THEM SIMPLY BY OBSERVING.

OUR TRUE SELF IS WITHOUT ANY BAGGAGE, JUDGMENT, FEAR OR DOUBT – THOSE ARE THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS. OUR TRUE SELF IS NOT BOUND BY THE PAST, not bound by the stories of who WE are, the stories of who WE should be, or the ways WE should act.

Singer says we can ask ourselves: “Is there something I can be doing to serve the moment in front of me? Not for me; I already let go of me. Now that I’m clear and nonreactive, is there something I can do to raise the moment as it passes by?”
