Every situation is made free of the past.

A Course in Miracles reminds us of what it calls the “holy instant.” The holy instant is the moment that we accept that we are the light, that we have within us that which defies the time-space-body in which we have confined ourselves. Each breath that we breathe is a catalyst of the light that we shine as a willing vessel of love.

The Course, by Dr. Helen Schucman says, “[l]et not time worry you, for all the fear that you and your brother experience is really past. Time has been readjusted to help us do, together, what [ ]our separate pasts would hinder.”

The Course reminds us that there is only release in the present moment, which is holy in that it is filled with only “the loving thoughts [we] gave in the past, and those that were given [us].” All the rest is and must be forgotten. Only the ego likes to hold on, to justify the greatness that we refuse to experience.

Schucman channels the truth, saying “You look upon each holy instant as a different point in time. It never changes. All that it ever held or will ever hold is here right now. The past takes nothing from it, and the future will add no more. Here, then, is everything.”

How long is a holy instant?
As long as it takes to love.

“The blessed instant reaches out to encompass time,”
as Love encompasses you. In a holy instant, you release all
and by that sudden shift, you are released.

from A Course in Miracles

Start now by practicing the holy instant
by taking a moment to breathe in
the now of you.

“The holy instant is this instant and every instant. The one you want it to be it is. The one you would not have it be is lost to you. You must decide when it is. Delay it not. For beyond the past and future, where you will not find it, it stands in shimmering readiness for your acceptance.”

from A Course in Miracles

You can claim the holy instant
any time and anywhere you want it.”

from A Course in Miracles

Stand within the power
of the holy instant,
realizing that nothing around us
means anything.
The only thing that matters is the
breath of love,
complete in all
that it is.
