UNBURDEN: August 4, 2021

August is the time to release and let go of the burdens of the past.

As A Course in Miracles says, “lay judgment down, not with regret but with a sigh of gratitude. Now are you free of a burden so great that you could merely stagger and fall down beneath it. And it was all illusion. Nothing more. Now [you] can . . . rise up unburdened, and walk lightly on . . . . [W]here [you used to come] to judge, [you now come] to bless. Where now [you] laugh, [you] used to come to weep.”

Are you holding on to your past, to guilt, to expectations, to other’s mistakes, to negativity in general?

Meditation is the best and perhaps the only way to unburden ourselves.

One of the best ways to release our burdens is to center in nothing, no one and nowhere.

As Dr. Joe says, “[O]pen your focus, putting your attention on different parts of your body as well as the space around those parts of the body. Next, unfold as pure consciousness into the unified field, staying in the generous present moment and becoming no body, no one, no thing, no where and in no time.”

A Course in Miracles, which is the power of love available to us all, teaches us that in Love, we have “no cares and no concerns, no burdens, no anxiety, no pain, no fear of future and no past regrets. In timelessness you rest, while time goes by without its touch upon you, for your rest can never change in any way at all.”

We lay down our worries and stress in the silence.

We swing low our sweet chariots in it.

We study war no more.

We unburden ourselves.

“You rest today. And as you close your eyes, sink into stillness. Let these periods of rest and respite reassure your mind that all its frantic fantasies were but the dreams of fever that has passed away. Let it be still and thankfully accept its healing.”

Dr. Helen Schucman, A Course in Miracles

“No more fearful dreams will come, now that you rest in [Love]. Take time today to slip away from dreams and into peace.”

Dr. Helen Schucman, A Course in Miracles

“[R]eceive what waits for everyone who reaches, unencumbered
. . . . Should you begin to let yourself collect some needless burdens, or believe you see some difficult decisions facing you, be quick to answer with this simple thought: I will not value what is valueless, for what is valuable belongs to me.”
