TAKE TIME FOR YOU: November 30, 2020

Somehow, in the midst of doing,
I fell by the wayside.
I forgot that I needed to be nurtured,
cared for, prioritized.

Starting now, I am making
myself a priority again.

I never realized the importance of
transitioning from one thing to another.
The commutes between work and home
were actually a blessing.
The gaps of time,
movements through space,
and re-location of place
were actually boundaries
that I had never
learned to appreciate.

Now, the distinction between doing
and not doing,
arriving and leaving work,
being present and absent
are more difficult to recognize.

The importance of taking a moment
to center in the breath
is not merely necessary,
it is vital to our survival.

If you haven’t been generous
to yourself,
make you a priority,
starting now.

It’s the most amazing gift
we can give to ourselves,
and one that keeps giving.

HERE IS A MEDITATION FOR YOU TO LISTEN TO.

Don’t skip the meditation.
Let’s breathe here, together,
even if it is just for five minutes.
I guarantee that
it will make you experience
the world differently.
Let this moment be the boundary
that you to need
to honor you.

Nope, don’t skip it.
Pause in the breath,
and meditate.

HERE IS ANOTHER MEDITATION
IF YOU MISSED THE ONE ABOVE.

The first step to self-care
is taking the time
to listen to your breath.

Yes, if nothing else,
just count each breath,
each inhalation
and exhalation.
For 10-20 minutes,
just allow the breath
to be your only care
in the world.
You deserve to be blessed
by the moment.

Find at least one other time
during the day
to be aware
of the breath,
to realize that you are alive,
and just center
in that moment of gratitude.

Take time for you.
