“Meditation is a specific act
that brings forth
spiritual fruitage.”
Joel Goldsmith
from Living By GraceBE STILL AND LISTEN HERE
I am still in the awareness of what Moses told the Israelites,
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)
I am not “terrified . . . [nor] afraid” because I know
“God, who is going before [me], will fight for [me].” (Deuteronomy 1:29-30)
I breathe in the awareness that I am covered from the top of my head
to the bottom of my feet with victory,
and from the circumference of my soul
centered in the light of Spirit is nothing but love —
a love that rescues me from all enemies, all worries, all doubts, all sins.
As David told Goliath, “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands,
and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. . . .
All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear
that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s,
and he will give all of you into our hands” (1 Samuel 46-47).
I move me out of the way and let God do the work that I was appointed to do.
David sang “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge . . . .
Out of the brightness of his presence
bolts of lightning blazed forth. . . .
He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me. . . .
You, Lord, are my lamp;
the Lord turns my darkness into light.
Today, I will “sound a blast on the trumpets” and be “rescued from my enemies”
(Numbers 10:9; Deuteronomy 20:3) —
not because of my strength or might
but because of the light of God that lives in me,
and shines through me, and wins as me.
My only battlefield is my faith —
