“Fortunately, when we decide to hold
our flawed humanity with compassion,
By responding to our own pain
with a sense of kindness and connection,
by soothing and comforting ourselves
when faced with the imperfection of ourselves
or our lives,
we are creating new positive emotions.”
Kristin Neff, from Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself
I release my imperfections,
never being enough, knowing enough, expressing enough.
I bless every mistake, inconvenience, lie, or truth.
I bless those who were not there for me,
and when I was not there for them.
I send love to my enemies
and witness them as friends.
I praise my adversaries,
and see how they lift me to be
even greater than I am.
I forgive those again and again
until I am free,
seventy times seven.
Until I am whole.
Until I am miraculous.
Simply being one
with everything that is nowhere
and nothing that is perfect.
