“One of my favorite lines from the Art of War by Sun Tzu,
an ancient manual for dealing effectively with conflict in war,
business, and throughout life,
is ‘Attain both hard and soft.’
To me, this means that in any given moment
we need the ability to be firm and
simultaneously the ability to be gentle.
This can be challenging,
but Martin Luther King, Jr.,
offered us an example of holding hard and soft together.
He pointed out that love without power
is ineffectual, and power without love

Mindfulness allows you to be you, and me to be me.
By breathing in, I am about my business.
By breathing out, the universe guides me in endless solutions.
By breathing in, the answers that I need come as I need them.
By breathing out, I am the wisdom that I am.
By breathing in, the truth liberates me.
By breathing out, I honor the truth that sets me free.
Mindfulness is the truth that empowers us in the moment of a simple breath.
