David sang “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge . . . . Out of the brightness of his presence bolts of lightning blazed forth. . . . He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. . . . You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. . . . You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.” (2 Samuel 22:2, 13, 17-18, 29-30, 40)
The weapons that win for me are not of the world. (2 Corinthinians 10:4; John 18:36)
Today, I will “sound a blast on the trumpets” and be “rescued from my enemies” (Numbers 10:9; Deuteronomy 20:3) — not because of my strength or might but because of the light of God that lives in me, and shines through me, and wins as me.
My only battlefield is my faith — not someone else’s opinion of me but my faith in the power of God.
