“When you go into prayer without words
or thoughts . . . and Spirit touches you,

and everything necessary to fulfillment

Loving the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul and mind sounds simple.
But the truth is that it’s one of the most difficult commandments to obey.
Why? We can’t just be out there going through the motions –
we have to remember to put God first in everything.
This means that we don’t have the luxury of sinking into a spiral of negativity.
The love of God is never negative – never hateful – never mean-spirited
– never resentful – never jealous – never worried – never spiteful
– never lost.
We like to get comfortable in our negative thoughts,
in our lust, and our greed, and our laziness.
But loving God – with our mind, soul and body –
pushes us to a completely new level.
It requires us to stop being agitated by other people –
because the way we react and treat other people
is a reflection of how we love God.
